Engraved Christening Gifts

After four successful months, our Christening gifts engraving service is proving increasingly popular.

The St Christopher pendant with initials has been the most regular choice, offering a personalised, lasting Christening gift for under £30, whilst sales of napkin rings, bookmarks and cufflinks have increased month on month. However, the Christening gift to benefit most from the new engraving service is undoubtedly our traditional silver egg cup.

A classic Christening present, this silver egg cup has become even more popular now that it can be engraved with a simple set of initials. The majority of customers are choosing the engraver's "English Script" for the initials, perfectly complimenting the style & design of the cup.

Although we suggest allowing 2 to 3 days for an engraved gift to be dispatched, we have, more often than not, engraved and dispatched on the same day as a order. In fact, any engraving order that has been received by 9am Monday to Friday has been dispatched on the same day.

We've added another super Tooth Fairy box to our Christening gift range.

This is a substantial tooth fairy box, weighing in at over 30 grams of silver. Beautifully designed by a London silversmith and hallmarked at the London Assay Office, this is a great Christening gift or new baby present. A charming little fairy sits on the lid, whilst the pot has ample space on the side for engraving of a name or initials. A magic gift!

New Christening Gifts - Silver Christian Fish Necklace

Over January and February 2009 we have more than 30 new Christening gifts to add to our site.

The first Christening gift to be added to our stock has been requested regularly over the past year. A simple silver icthus fish pendant:

Manufactured in sterling silver by Birmingham silversmiths, this necklace is based on the ICTHUS symbol adopted by early Christian communities throughout the Roman Empire. The Greek word for fish, icthus, is an acrostic of the Greek words, Iesous Christos Theou Yios Soter which translates as Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour. The icthus also reflected Jesus's wish that his disciples became Fishers of Men.

It's not all doom and gloom in the current economic climate. The weakness of the pound may be making us Brits think twice about our overseas holidays, but it has helped generate interest from overseas in quality British products and, more particularly, our very own silver Christening gifts range.

Christening gift sales to the USA from the CHRISTENINGsilver website have increased as the pound has declined. Not long ago, one of our best selling sterling silver Christening bibles would have cost a buyer from the USA around $USD 130.00 including delivery, today the cost is just $USD 96.00!

With the refund of Value Added Tax for Christening gifts exported to the USA, prices are highly competitive, even when the Airmail delivery is taken into consideration. Christening Gift Trends - Tried and Tested Christening Gifts

Sales of Christening gifts over the last week seem to have concentrated on the tried and tested classics like silver napkin rings and silver egg cups.
